tavitas
east l.a. meets south station
The owners of Tavitas came to us with a name and a general concept of what they wanted to create: an East L.A.-inspired Mexican restaurant and bar. With the first location opening in Boston’s busy South Station, they wanted it to stand out from other more expected Mexican restaurants and be unlike anything else in Boston.
To create the Tavitas brand, we began by delving into the culture of East L.A. Tattoos, blackletter type, graffiti tags, religious iconography, and street art influenced all aspects of the brand identity, interior, signage-wayfinding, menus and website. This vision was carried through to the art program in the interior featuring a 14’ high mural by Marka27. When you step into Tavitas, you’ll feel transported to the other coast (and that’s even before you’ve had any tequilla!)
