Long term backup file recovery

How to recover large file from CrashPlan that was deleted from Synology long-term backup (note: deleted files are now set to never be deleted from CrashPlan).

Connect to Crashplan Manager on Synology

1. Delete the test file
2. Open Finder > Network > CrashPlan Manager
3. Click on Share Screen
4. Login as “fritz” and “vdonline”
5. Select share screen?

Restore file from the CrashPlan app

1. Check to make sure you can see the “vd backup” and “vd dead jobs” disks on the desktop screen share
2. Open the CrashPlan app, then click the “Restore Files” button
3. Drill down to the file or folder you would like to restore and check it
4. Click “Restore Files” and select restore to original location.
5. Once download activity is complete, the file should re-appear where it was last seen.
